Val Mikado-Beasley opened her Crowsnest Pass Ceramics Studio in January 2006.  This home-based studio is located at 1318 - 85th Street, Coleman, Alberta, Canada T0K 0M0.

It's very convenient having the studio in a separate building next to your home -- not a very long commute!

Prior to living in the Pass, Val and her husband Dennis lived in Lethbridge. Both had retired early. Val has been and is still currently a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society in Lethbridge only now as a volunteer.

Ceramics started as a hobby for Val in the early 1980s. Once she retired, she earned her Duncan Teacher's Certificate and opened her 1st studio in Lethbridge. Quickly the classroom became packed with students eager to learn or return to ceramic art. Garden ornaments, nature scenes, baby gifts, and creativity abounded in the little shop.

Then, Val & Dennis decided to relocate to the beautiful Crowsnest Pass, an area they had visited many times over the years now because a dream come true -- a home in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. They had found a spot right next to the Crowsnest River and there they built their new home a shop out back to be used as an art studio & classroom for Val. Val knew that she wanted to continue her career with ceramics. Now she had a new location to share her passion for ceramics arts as well as pen & ink drawing techniques and rouging on wood -- all part of a passionate artistic artist!
